Cinderella Themed Family Costumes.

For Halloween last year we decided to go with a Cinderella theme since that was Olivia's favorite princess at the time!
Michael was Bruno, I was Lucifer, Olivia was Cinderella (of course), and Clara was Gus Gus.
We didn't have a lot of money so we had to try and work with what we already had.
Hence why bruno is gray instead of brown.

My husband is totally a trooper haha! I promised him I wouldn't make him be a animal this year.
(See him as a mouse in THIS post!)

It is always so fun to come up with costumes and especially fun when the whole family goes together!

Similar Cinderella dress HERE.

Gus Gus outfit HERE
(I took the blue bow off and then bought a cheap t-shirt from Wal-mart to put over it)

I would recommend actually visiting Target and/or Walmart especially for the dog and cat ears!

Happy Halloween costume hunting!

Halloween Make-up Looks and Products.

I am so excited for Halloween this year! I get to paint so many different faces and see their costumes come to life! I thought I would share some of my favorite products I used to create these looks.
The Cheshire Cat inspired from a picture on Pinterest.
These are my favorite face paints for pure pigment. They are the BenNye brand that you can get at any local party store or Taylor Maid. Instead of buying all the colors, I only purchased primary colors because I'm able to mix the colors to create whatever I want.
If I'm working with clients with extremely dry skin, I LOVE this brand. All you do is add water and the paint goes on extremely smooth and it doesn't sheer out the pigment. It will keep the paint full coverage. This brand is KRYOLAN in the aqua line.
I didn't use this product in the models above, but I thought I would share it still. This is my favorite fake blood because it doesn't smell cheap, it dries wet looking, and its inexpensive. I purchased it at Taylor Maid
For any special effects like zombie bites, flesh eating wounds, attachments, etc. You will need liquid latex. Again, the Taylor Maid brand is my favorite. My special effects last all day and the product is inexpensive. (the link to the website doesn't show a picture).
The KatVonD palette is a must. I've talked about this product a number of times and I will continue to do so! It's perfect for blending and adding neutral tones to finish off every look.
The Urban Decay Electric palette is so pretty and so fun! I can't believe how rich and pigmented the shadows are. I use this palette on the daily for my face painting clients. The colors look intense but it's perfect to use with any colorful look!

I hope you enjoy these fun halloween makeup looks!

DIY Little Bunny Fufu costume.

I am so excited to share with you one of my very favorite Halloween costumes!
Little bunny fufu!
We all know that little song about little bunny fufu, but if you don't you can listen to it HERE.
That song inspired my little family's Halloween costumes 4 years ago. My husband was a mouse, I was the good fairy, and my sweet Olivia was little bunny fufu.
I was so excited to make Olivia's costume and immediately knew that she had to have a puffy tulle skirt to go along with the cute bunny hat her great great grandmother made.

Here are the details on how to recreate this costume:

HAT:
Similar hats can be found HERE, HERE, and HERE. Or you can just search Etsy for homemade bunny hats.

TOP:
A simple white sweater over a white onsie.
(You can just use whatever you have at home. A white shirt would would be great too!)

SKIRT:
All I did was buy some elastic, measure it around her waist(or where I wanted it), and then cut it 2 inches smaller than what she measured.
I sewed the elastic so it was a circle.
I bought 9 yards of white tulle and cut it in about 6 inch strips and then tied them onto the elastic waist really close together.
The strips of tulle really weren't even cut straight and some were longer than others but I just trimmed up the bottom once I was done.
I found THIS tutorial on youtube if you would like more detailed instructions.

BOTTOMS:
White tights

Shoes:
Little white fuzzy slippers.

Tail:
The tutorial I used is no longer available but THIS one is extremely similar.
After it was made I simply safety pinned it to the back of the tulle skirt.

MAKE-UP:
I drew her whiskers on with black eyeliner and put a little bit of pink lipstick on the tip of her nose.

There you go! Its pretty simple and seriously the cutest costume on the planet!
(At least I think so.)

You can find some super cheap mouse ears HERE and some cute fairy wings HERE.

Happy Halloween costume making!

Yummy & Healthy!

I have a deep love for any kind of protein drink. They are so useful for many different reasons. One reason is if I don't have enough time for breakfast in the morning I can make a quick smoothie or have one ready in the refrigerator. They're also perfect for when you have those late-night cravings! Let's face it, I have those every night. These smoothies have really helped me from binging on late-night snacks. Protein drinks are simple, save time, & they're delicious! You can purchase them at any local health food store, or just make them yourself! I love making them myself because I can customize it to how I like it and get creative as well! This is a recipe I've used in the past that I absolutely love!

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Protein Powder (your choice in brand) I like DYMATIZE ISO 100
  • Vanilla Almond Milk
  • Frozen Fruit (preferably berries)
  • All Natural Peanut Butter
  • Natural Raw Organic Honey
  • 1 Banana
  • Ice

  1. First, pour the Almond milk in the blender to about 6 oz.
  2. Then add 1 scoop of protein powder (add more protein if you're feeding more than one person).
  3. Next, add 1 cup of frozen fruit. You can also add the banana in this step. (I like the banana in this smoothie for its added taste).
  4. 1 tsp of the natural peanut butter.
  5. 1 tsp of the natural raw organic honey.
  6. Add 1.5 cups of ice. I like my smoothie to be cold and thick!
  7. Blend, blend, blend!
  8. Sip and enjoy!

Fall shoe must haves for your little girl!

I have been doing some shoe shopping for my two little girls ages 4 and 2 for fall/winter.
My favorite stores to shop for them are Gap, Old Navy, and H&M.
Seriously you will die at some of these!
Before I share them with you I just wanted to note that I NEVER EVER buy anything full priced at Gap or Old Navy. They always have promotions going on. For example, Gap offers sales of up to 40% percent off. This is usually when I try to stock up on things I've had my eye on!
If you haven't already, sign up for their emails so you can be the first to know about them!

Top Left: HERE (These are regularly $44.95 but I got them for $26.00!) || Top Right: HERE
