DIY Little Bunny Fufu costume.

I am so excited to share with you one of my very favorite Halloween costumes!
Little bunny fufu!
We all know that little song about little bunny fufu, but if you don't you can listen to it HERE.
That song inspired my little family's Halloween costumes 4 years ago. My husband was a mouse, I was the good fairy, and my sweet Olivia was little bunny fufu.
I was so excited to make Olivia's costume and immediately knew that she had to have a puffy tulle skirt to go along with the cute bunny hat her great great grandmother made.

Here are the details on how to recreate this costume:

HAT:
Similar hats can be found HERE, HERE, and HERE. Or you can just search Etsy for homemade bunny hats.

TOP:
A simple white sweater over a white onsie.
(You can just use whatever you have at home. A white shirt would would be great too!)

SKIRT:
All I did was buy some elastic, measure it around her waist(or where I wanted it), and then cut it 2 inches smaller than what she measured.
I sewed the elastic so it was a circle.
I bought 9 yards of white tulle and cut it in about 6 inch strips and then tied them onto the elastic waist really close together.
The strips of tulle really weren't even cut straight and some were longer than others but I just trimmed up the bottom once I was done.
I found THIS tutorial on youtube if you would like more detailed instructions.

BOTTOMS:
White tights

Shoes:
Little white fuzzy slippers.

Tail:
The tutorial I used is no longer available but THIS one is extremely similar.
After it was made I simply safety pinned it to the back of the tulle skirt.

MAKE-UP:
I drew her whiskers on with black eyeliner and put a little bit of pink lipstick on the tip of her nose.

There you go! Its pretty simple and seriously the cutest costume on the planet!
(At least I think so.)

You can find some super cheap mouse ears HERE and some cute fairy wings HERE.

Happy Halloween costume making!

Yummy & Healthy!

I have a deep love for any kind of protein drink. They are so useful for many different reasons. One reason is if I don't have enough time for breakfast in the morning I can make a quick smoothie or have one ready in the refrigerator. They're also perfect for when you have those late-night cravings! Let's face it, I have those every night. These smoothies have really helped me from binging on late-night snacks. Protein drinks are simple, save time, & they're delicious! You can purchase them at any local health food store, or just make them yourself! I love making them myself because I can customize it to how I like it and get creative as well! This is a recipe I've used in the past that I absolutely love!

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • Protein Powder (your choice in brand) I like DYMATIZE ISO 100
  • Vanilla Almond Milk
  • Frozen Fruit (preferably berries)
  • All Natural Peanut Butter
  • Natural Raw Organic Honey
  • 1 Banana
  • Ice

  1. First, pour the Almond milk in the blender to about 6 oz.
  2. Then add 1 scoop of protein powder (add more protein if you're feeding more than one person).
  3. Next, add 1 cup of frozen fruit. You can also add the banana in this step. (I like the banana in this smoothie for its added taste).
  4. 1 tsp of the natural peanut butter.
  5. 1 tsp of the natural raw organic honey.
  6. Add 1.5 cups of ice. I like my smoothie to be cold and thick!
  7. Blend, blend, blend!
  8. Sip and enjoy!

Fall shoe must haves for your little girl!

I have been doing some shoe shopping for my two little girls ages 4 and 2 for fall/winter.
My favorite stores to shop for them are Gap, Old Navy, and H&M.
Seriously you will die at some of these!
Before I share them with you I just wanted to note that I NEVER EVER buy anything full priced at Gap or Old Navy. They always have promotions going on. For example, Gap offers sales of up to 40% percent off. This is usually when I try to stock up on things I've had my eye on!
If you haven't already, sign up for their emails so you can be the first to know about them!

Top Left: HERE (These are regularly $44.95 but I got them for $26.00!) || Top Right: HERE

10 Steps: 5 Minute Makeup.

EVERYBODY needs to have a 5 minute makeup look! For some girls, that might be all the time they have to do their makeup. I love this look because it's so fast and easy that anyone has time for it and can pull this off. I'm a firm believer that EVERY girl should feel comfortable in her own, natural skin but with that being said, there's no harm in adding a touch of makeup to enhance that natural beauty.
HERE'S WHAT I DO:
1. Apply a face primer. I love using NYX Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator as my primer because it is lightweight and gives skin a refreshed glow and a beautiful highlight.
2. Apply foundation. Because this look is very natural, instead of going with a heavy coverage foundation, I like using my e.l.f. Cosmetics Studio BB Cream. I'm obsessed with how creamy and soft this bb cream is and I absolutely love that there is SPF in it. Everyday before my makeup, I always put on sunscreen so this BB Cream allows me to skip a step (Bonus: Skipping steps means a faster application ;) ) I use a foundation brush to apply this or my fingers and I apply it ALL OVER my face including my under eye area, so I don't need to apply concealer, and my eyelid because I won't be wearing any shadow. However, if you have any imperfections, you can still use a concealer to better hide them. For example: dark circles, acne, or any redness around the face.
3. Curl your lashes. Curling your lashes is a very important step because it really opens your eyes. Make sure you curl your lashes BEFORE applying mascara to prevent your lashes from getting stuck and/or pulled out.
4. Apply mascara. Any mascara will work. I'm always using a different mascara but the one I'm using now is called Monster Lash by Femme Couture. I apply a generous amount on my upper lashes doing several coats and a light amount on my lower lashes because I'm not a huge fan of dramatic lower lashes.
5. Fill in your brows. As always, I use an angle brush to do this and my all time favorite brow shadow, Brun my Mac Cosmetics. To speed up this process, I don't go all out sculpting my brows. I just lightly add some powder as needed and comb through them keeping them simple and natural. Filling in your brows is extremely important because it really frames the face.
6. Add a highlight to your inner corner of the eye and brow bone. Any light color will do but my personal favorite at the moment is called Vanilla by TIGI Cosmetics. Highlighting these areas really helps brighten and draw attention to your eyes.
7. Apply bronzer. My all time favorite bronzer is Fawn and Havana mixed together in Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I apply my bronzer on the sides of my face (contour/blush area), on my forehead, chin and lightly on the nose. Really anywhere the sun would hit leaving a nice, natural sun-kissed effect.
8. Apply a highlight. My favorite highlighter at the moment is Bobbi Brown's Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige. It is so gorgeous and leaves the most perfect glow! I apply this on my cheekbone (highest part of the cheek, under the eye), slightly on the forehead, down the bridge of my nose, cupids bow, and chin.
9. Apply your favorite gloss. Soooo.... I forgot to add my favorite gloss but anything will work! I like using a natural lip pencil like Natural by NYX Cosmetics to lightly line my lips to add definition. I even like the natural lip I have in this picture. Just remember that it's important to keep your lips hydrated and moisturized so even a little chapstick wouldn't be a bad idea.
10. Last but not least, set your makeup. The setting spray that I love to use is Dewy Finish by NYX Cosmetics. This spray is lightweight and keeps my makeup looking dewy and fresh all day long.

"Makeup should never be used to hide yourself. It should be used to enhance your natural beauty."

Casual With A Little Edge.

Lately, I have been loving comfortable T-shirts! They are so dang easy to work with whether I'm wanting something super casual, or something a little more done up. This time of year I always go towards more edgier styles. It's probably because we say goodbye to all the bright summer colors and welcome the olive greens, plums, and my personal favorite, black. Edge is fun because you feel a little more bold and sexy. I don't know what it is about wearing all black, but I'm most confident in it (who am I kidding, we all know its the most slimming color.) With this particular outfit, all I'm wearing is skinny jeans and a t-shirt and the black booties and floppy hat were added to help make this outfit a bit dressier and edgier.

Hat: ALDO || T-Shirt: TARGET || Skinny Jeans: PACSUN || Booties: H&M (old, similar HERE||  Watch: NIXON  || Bangle: Forever 21 (similar HERE)

Sorry for all the photos! My hubby did a pretty great job! (: I hope you enjoyed this look and make sure to check out the links!
