Sexy & Romantic.

Who doesn't love a good, sexy smokey eye? Especially with a touch of glitter! I used mostly warm tones to create this look and to really make it dramatic, I used a piece of scotch tape to make the shadow on my outer corner nice and crisp. As you know, I love adding glitter because it makes the look more exciting, playful and romantic. I found some amber colored glitter and just pressed it on my inner lid towards the crease. A look like this would be perfect for a fun night out because it's definitely more dramatic and bold, however there are no rules so just have fun with it!

Happy Pioneer Day everyone! (On Friday of course!)

Vanilla & Strawberry layered Cake with Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting.

This simple vanilla cake with whipped cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries is the perfect summer dessert.  It's fairly simple to make and the taste, well you'll die and go to cake heaven for sure!
Here's how to make it:
For the cake:
(This recipe makes two 9 inch layers, so you will want to make it twice if you want a 4 layer cake like this one.)
1 box of Duncan Heines white cake mix
1/2  a box of instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup of sour cream
1/2 cup water
3 egg whites
1 stick of melted butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine all ingredients together and mix well. (I use the paddle attachment on my kitchen aid).
Pour into greased and floured cake pans.
TIP:  I always spray my cake pans with cooking spray and then lightly flour them. I cut out circles of parchment paper that fit the bottom of my cake pans and place those at the bottom of each cake pan. Since I have been doing this with my cake pans I have never had a problem getting my cakes out!
Place cakes in the oven and bake according to package instructions.  (Usually around 40 minutes. Also try not to open the oven a lot while baking because it can cause the center to sink a bit. Use your oven lights!) Be sure to insert a toothpick in the middle and make sure it comes out clean before taking the cakes out.
Let cakes cool while making the frosting and washing and slicing the strawberries.
For the strawberries:
1 lb strawberries washed and thinly sliced.
For the frosting.
Recipe found HERE.
I am absolutely in love with this recipe and find myself using it for literally everything!
(The original recipe doesn't make quite enough so I altered the amount of ingredients.)
24 ounces of cream cheese (room temperature)
2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup heavy cream
In a separate bowl beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form. In another bowl beat cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture and gently mix until combine. Do not over beat.

To assemble the cake:
Start by placing one layer of the cake on your plate or cake stand. Put a generous amount of the whipped frosting on top and smooth around until evenly dispersed. Place sliced strawberries on top and then add another cake layer.
Repeat steps until your cake is complete!
We hope you enjoy this as much as we did! And feel free to ask any questions or give any feed back in the comments below. We'd love to hear from you!
HAPPY BAKING!

Smokin'.

Smokin' smokey eyes!! I've done a look very similar to this one but this time I wanted to make it a little bit darker. This smokey eye is very subtle, yet bold and would be perfect to wear either during the day or out at night. Anyone could pull off makeup like this so play around with the colors and make it as light or as dark as you want. Good luck!
Products Used:
Lorac Pro Palette - Taupe and Sable (crease)
Mac Cosmetics Cool Neutral Palette - Brun (lid, blended into crease)
NYX Natural Palette - The Darkest Shade (lid-focusing on lash line area, and undereye)
Nars Eye Paint - Black Valley

My Boyfriend's Outfit.

T-Shirt: Banana Republic || Jeans: American Eagle (check out the ones I found at Forever 21)  || Heels: Forever Young (website still down :( )
Who doesn't love a good pair of boyfriend jeans? I know I do! They are extremely comfortable, relaxing, cute, and I love how there are so many different ways to wear them. You can't go wrong with dressing them up or down. In this particular look, I did a little mixture of both. I literally walked into my husbands closet and grabbed this basic black v-neck, rolled up the sleeves, and tucked a little bit into the front of my jeans (keeping it casual of course). To make this outfit a little more feminine, I added a dainty necklace and my fabulous studded heels, dressing it up just a bit.

Baby, you're a Firework.

Nothing stands out more then adding some glitter to your eyes! As you know, I am OBSESSED with glitter! As far as I'm concerned, glitter should be everywhere. I wore this sparkly look for the fourth of July and it couldn't have been more perfect. I wanted to use a something that would go with the patriotic colors red, white and blue but I'm not one for putting a bright red or blue on my eye, at least not yet ;) so I chose silver. I couldn't help but think that the glitter represented the fireworks so I literally felt like I had sparkly fireworks on my eyes haha! Weird I know, but I absolutely loved this look especially for this particular holiday. Obviously, a look like this can be worn for so many different occasions so play around and have fun with it!
Products Used:
Sephora's Glitter Guard Eye Primer (perfect for adding glitter. I feel like the best way to apply is by using your finger)
Mac Cosmetics Cool Neutral Palette - Silver Fog (for the lid before applying the glitter), Cumulus and Brun (both used for my crease not too overboard, the glitter should be the main focus)
For the glitter I just used a loose silver glitter from the craft store. Nothing special.
I stacked two different lashes together (any would work) to complete the look. I didn't even add eyeliner but that would have looked incredible too. You can't go wrong!
Enjoy!

Summertime.

Dress: Old Navy || Heels: Forever Young Shoes (website undergoing maintenance so keep checking or go check out your local store) || Necklace: Icing (I found a cute one at Dressbarn)
I am absolutely in love with everything about this outfit! This jersey dress is a MUST HAVE because it is so light, cute, and comfortable. They have a few different colors to choose from but I had to have this orangey-red color because it is so bright and perfect for summer. Go get one now because Old Navy is having a 30% off sale only until Monday, July 13!!
I paired this dress with these fabulous heels! Saying OBSESSED would be an understatement. I have seen the Valentino Rockstud shoes everywhere and have wanted a pair myself but the price is just a little bit out of my budget... if you know what I'm saying;) I found these look-a-likes at Forever Young for only $37.99. The price is unbeatable for some beauties like these so go make a purchase while you still can!
I picked this statement necklace up at Icing for only five dollars! A lot of their jewelry is only five dollars right now so be sure to check it out. Unfortunately this necklace is no longer available but the one at Dressbarn is just as cute. I love how neutral and simple this necklace is because you can make it look good with any outfit.
Enjoy!

Good Times and Tan Lines.

Good Times and Tan Lines! Even though tan lines aren't so hot, I still love the saying and I love this tank! I brought it with me on my trip to Cancun and it was so cute to wear over my swimming suit. Obviously, there are multiple ways you can wear this and the price is unbeatable so go grab one before it's too late!

Sequins.

Shirt: JCPenny (Found one at ASOS, on sale so go now!) || Jeans: Cotton-On (check these ones out at American Eagle) || Shoes: Forever 21 (not exact ones)
Who doesn't love sequins? I fell in love with this shirt and absolutely had to have it! I wish they still had this exact one but Asos has a really cute one that is on sale right now so be sure to check it out. I love anything and everything that glitters and adding some sparkle will make your outfit glamorous and thrilling.
I've already raved about white jeans and how they are a necessity. If you don't own a pair, GO BUY SOME! I added the white jeans with this top to stick with a classic black and white color scheme and I wanted to make the outfit a bit more casual.
A big shout out to Talisa Myers for taking the pictures! She's incredible so go check her out!
